The society of the future or life without art
It is quite difficult for a modern person to admit the very possibility of the existence of a society without art, although, it would seem, examples are not far off. Only a couple of tens of millennia separates us from the Neanderthals – representatives of a quite advanced human society, which left us no clear evidence of the existence of arts in this society, despite the fact that it has the customs of corpse burial. The disappearance of this type of people from planet Earth is a separate hypothesis, built and worked out in sufficient detail, but that's not what we're talking about right now.
Trying to figure out whether art is a mandatory feature of human society can lead us to certain conclusions and have extraordinary consequences. At the same time, it is necessary to ignore some archaeological artifacts - for the banal reason of the lack of any intelligible documentation of that time. Note that it is written (not necessarily graphic) evidence that makes it possible to date and study related finds. It is difficult to assume that a developed human civilization did not have written annals.
Today, it should be noted that the society of modern people raises no less questions, the vast majority of whom have art needs motivated by purely animal instincts of hunger and reproduction. Modern society distinctly divides art and culture, losing one and retaining the other. Before our eyes, art turns into a circulation design, and the artist-creator becomes a manager-manager in popular culture. All this clearly indicates the decline of the role of art in the human population, but I would also like to analyze the causes of this phenomenon.
If we leave aside fruitless reflections on the substrate of primacy, then only the idea of form and function can help us find the answer. Form and function - in the form of the organization of society and the organization of an individual - can shed light on the causes of the disappearance of art from human society. Although there are no serious studies here, however, it seems that the complexity of the human computer has reached its maximum and, since its form is unchanged, further addition of capabilities can only be associated with the exclusion of certain functions.
The idea to regard the functions of a living organism as a set of computer programs apparently corresponds to reality and is even time-tested. It is clear that, first of all, the most recent functions should be lost. and art, exactly, is among them. All trends in the development of human society convince us of the upcoming changes associated with the disappearance of art from life and turning art objects into ordinary artifacts. However, there is another way to improve the situation – you can change the computer or, in this case, its owner. And, although His craft is unpredictable, a miracle is not worth waiting for, because the Lord rules the world through physics, chemistry and mathematics.
